This is a wonky one, so bear with us, team, there are a lot of numbers involved:

On Monday, the Iowa Secretary of State's office released updated voter registration data by party -- and it has some really promising numbers for us, as well as a few numbers that will make our team work harder than we've ever worked before.

⇒ As of this report, there are 24,438 more registered Republicans in Iowa than there are Democrats in Iowa.
⇒ Two of Iowa's congressional districts are solidly blue. One is solidly red. And in one, registered Democrats trail registered Republicans by only 61 people.
⇒ But since early June, 24,189 MORE Iowans have registered as Democrats.

This is why our race is considered a toss-up. This is why the RGA and the Reynolds team are scrambling to hit us in every way they can think up. This is proof that a blue wave is building in Iowa -- and this is why we know we can win. We just have to put in the time, put in the hard work, and build the blue wave to victory. Of course, there are a lot of independent and unaffiliated voters out there, some that vote our way and some that don't -- but this is a benchmark we're taking to heart, because those undecided and unaffiliated voters are the ones that can make a huge difference in November's election. And we have our work cut out for us in the coming months.

A blue wave doesn't build itself, and we know that. We have to build it, and that's exactly what we intend to do. We're setting the foundation right now to take on Gov. Reynolds and Republicans up and down their ticket -- and we're not trailing them by much.
