This morning I have the honor of introducing you to my running mate, State Senator Rita Hart.

Rita's been a teacher, a farmer, a mother, and a State Senator -- and the results she's delivered for her students and constituents speak for themselves, and are a testament to her character. A caring, steadfast Iowan through and through, Senator Hart has dedicated her life to serving and fighting for her community.

From the Missouri to the Mississippi, and in all 99 counties in-between, Democrats are coming together today, united by a simple vision: if we invest in the future and put people first, we can truly get Iowa growing again. The right way.

We stand united to turn this state around -- and Rita and I have an idea of how to do that.

We are in this race because we both love this state and we want to leave it to our children and grandchildren better than we found it. But we certainly won't be doing it alone -- we are only as strong as our team, and I want you all to meet her, and for her to meet you.
