Livelihoods are at stake, team.

While national Republicans continue to escalate their international trade war, Iowa's agricultural economy is in jeopardy -- the Des Moines Register estimates that the combined effect of tariffs will cost our state nearly $1.2 billion in lost revenue for pork and soy bean producers.

All the while, the White House imposed another $200 billion in tariffs on China last week and continues to threaten escalation of more tariffs with Canada and Mexico, Iowa's top customers -- threatening our state's agricultural economy even more.

So what's Kim Reynolds doing about it? Not much.

Our state's economy, particularly Iowa's farmers and agricultural producers, depend on international markets to sell their Iowa goods -- but national Republicans are making it difficult, and Gov. Reynolds isn't doing much to help.

This trade war must end. As governor, Fred will work to expand and better secure our current export markets, while speaking out against any leader, of any party, who damages Iowa's ability to sell our agricultural products abroad -- whether in China, Mexico, or Canada.
