Dear Yale Club Members,

I am pleased to report that the Locker Rooms, Squash courts, and fitness center renovations are proceeding very well. So far, we are on time, and on budget.

Over the next six weeks or so, the work will encroach somewhat on the Library as we install drain lines for the new bathroom areas on the 5^th floor. The drains run under the floor, which means we will have to install them via the 4^th floor ceiling. THE MAIN READING ROOM WILL REMAIN OPEN THROUGHOUT THIS PROCESS. The noise should be minimal, and less than what we experienced during the demolition phase. Complimentary ear plugs and a limited number of noise canceling headphones are available for checkout from Library staff.

While all of this is going on, members are welcome to use the Grill Room as an alternative work space. The Grill Room is closed for dining on weekdays, and only serving dinner at night on weekends. Members may use this space freely during non-dining hours. As a bonus, beginning Monday, July 2nd, we will provide complimentary coffee in the 2M elevator lobby each day until 4:30 pm for the duration of construction in the Library space. Enjoy a cup on us!

We appreciate everyone’s patience through the disruption of services and any associated noise. We are confident that the end result will be well worth the inconvenience.
