Fundraiser at the Titled Kilt In this season of gratitude, we give special thanks for your support and dedication to the Great Prostate Cancer Challenge. With your loyalty and participation, we were able to raise over $350,000 in 2012 to support a research scholar program through the American Urological Association and to generate prostate cancer awareness in conjunction with our nonprofit partner, ZERO-The End of Prostate Cancer. Funds were also used to conduct 12 free prostate cancer screenings in the Baltimore community in 2012. We screened close to 1,500 men and provided educational materials to help spread our message about the importance of early detection. Thanks to you, the Great Prostate Cancer Challenge has collected over $1.5 million in Baltimore since its inception in 2006. Originating in Baltimore, the road race is now hosted in 34 cities across the country with more cities being added each year. The goal is to bring widespread awareness a
nd research funds to prostate cancer and men's health in the same way that similar organizations have brought attention to breast cancer and women's health issues. In order to achieve this goal, some unifying changes will take place in 2013. Look for the Great Prostate Cancer Challenge 5K/1 Mile Fun Walk to become ZERO Prostate Cancer Run. This name will be used in each sponsoring city to unify our mission and voice across the country in an effort to raise an even greater awareness of prostate cancer. While the name of the Race may be changing, please know we are still working hard to bring you a fun and challenging 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk along with other fundraising events throughout the year. Below is a list of upcoming events. We hope you will join us for one or more of these events. Monday, November 12th, 5 p.m. to close. Tilted Kilt at The Avenue in White Marsh. Come on out and have some fun! Join us for food, fun and drinks! $5 bracelets for happy hour prices
all evening along available for purchase at the door. All who purchase a wrist band are entered into a drawing for door prizes. Corn hole tournament, guest bartenders and a silent auction with Ravens and Orioles memorabilia. 20% of all food purchases donated to the cause. Sunday, December 2nd, ManCave 5K: A Race for the Guy's Guy. Ladies welcome too! Race starts at 8:30 a.m. by the Big Screen Store on Mylander Road in Towson. Portion of the Proceeds to benefit ZERO-The End of Prostate Cancer in conjunction with the Great Prostate Cancer Challenge. $2,000 Prize Money for the top five men and women. Awards for age-group winners. Post race festivities including free food from Glory Days Grill and Santoni's Supermarket and Heavy Seas, Baltimore's Beer. Music and vendors.
