Since I first took office as governor, I’ve been fortunate to have a partner beside me dedicated to helping create a better Maryland: our Lieutenant Governor, Anthony Brown.

On the biggest issues, Anthony’s gotten results. I’ve seen it first-hand. Families are better off because of his leadership on creating new jobs, improving our healthcare system and making college more affordable.

Over these past six years, Anthony has led on many of the most difficult issues our administration has pursued. None of it’s been easy. But we’ve made progress, and Anthony’s leadership and determination have played a huge role.

His efforts have enabled us to expand upon and improve delivery of healthcare to Maryland families by eliminating waste, fraud and abuse of Medicaid. And his work has allowed us to give teeth to laws protecting neglected children and have helped take guns out of the hands of domestic abusers.

Anthony has used his experience to build consensus and his work ethic and smarts to pass many of our most critical priorities.

I know that Anthony will continue applying those traits to make a difference. We have to work hard to continue our progress well into the future. Anthony will be a leader in that.
