We are mindful of the burden that tuition increases impose on our families, and in creating next year's budget, we have sought to contain tuition increases while maintaining our extraordinary academic and extracurricular programs. Next year's increase will allow us to continue our generous financial aid program and to bring faculty compensation and benefits to more competitive levels. Our current financial model depends heavily on tuition to cover 80 percent of our operating expenses, including faculty and staff salaries and benefits.
