The United States and Qatar signed an agreement on Tuesday aimed at combating the financing of terrorism, as U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson visited Doha to try to end a month-long rift between Western-allied Arab states, as the

Part two of HBO’s “The Defiant Ones” aired last night. You can watch the whole four-part series on demand if you choose—I’m watching them in order that they air.

Part two covered several of modern music’s seminal moments—the birth and rise of NWA and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ breakthrough record, 1979’s “Damn the Torpedoes.”

As Iovine explains in the episode, as soon as he heard Petty demo the album’s first two tracks, “Refugee” and “Here Comes My Girl,” he knew that together they would make music history.
