Hey Guys, Lets discuss this next week. Looks like it will be around $4k for the install of the additional Kastle Key reader on our door and around $70/month for service (going up to around $100/month after the one year warranty expires). M Mike Muldoon Rosemont Seneca Partners, LLC 1010 Wisconsin Ave., NW Suite 705 Washington, DC 20007 (202) 333-1880 mmuldoon@rosemontseneca.com <eschwerin@obblaw.com> *P** **Consider the environment before printing this email.*** *From:* Rizzo, Jason [mailto:JRizzo@kastle.com] *Sent:* Friday, July 09, 2010 11:34 AM *To:* Michael Muldoon *Cc:* Anne Marie Person *Subject:* RE: Kastle Proposal Hi Mike - I'm sorry this has dragged on for too long. I was able to shave off only a few dollars from the original proposal (see attached). Again, the relative expense of the system is due in large part to the age of the building's system, particular how the wiring is structured and the additional labor required to put new tenant systems on line. Between you and me, there are a couple of things we can do for the building that would alleviate some of your costs, but I just haven't been able to work that out with management. Keep in mind that the proposal includes installing an alarm bug on the secondary door (the optional piece is to install a second reader on that door) Bottom line is that this is the best I can do for you right now. At some point, I should be able to do about 10% better - I just don't know when. I'm sorry I don't have better news. I hope you understand. Wanted to check back in and see if you had any update on the install costs for our suite. Let us know when you get the chance. I haven't priced out systems in your building previously, so it was a bit surprising to me as well. There is no doubt that if you called around town to colleagues in other Kastle buildings, you'd find that their price to install similar systems would run quite a bit lower than this. I'm sorry that this is the case, and assure you that we're very interested in making some improvements to the building's system that would alleviate some of the difference in cost, although I realize that's of little comfort to you at this moment. If you can hold tight for a day or two, I may have better news for you. Out of curiosity, what drove up the price from the $2,500 we discussed while you were here? Unfortunately, the insert key unit does run a bit more than the prox technology now available, howerver, you'd then need your folks to carry multiple keys, which I realize is not ideal. If you were not to bug the side door, the install price would be lowered by $180. DC taxes are 6% of the installation price, no tax on the operations fee, and 6% on the maintenance (which begins year 2). Yes, 3-4 weeks right now is our lead time. Virtually none (outside of 1 and 18) of those items are applicable for your installation - it's a boilerplate intended to cover all elements of our vast scope - most pertain to the building system that already exists. I think the plans Ann Marie provided me should suffice the DC permiting folks - if not, I bet Bill Verno has a set of plans for your space. We pass on the $20 fee for the permit to you, too. Hope this helps! I think you said 3-4 weeks? 4) What additional “customer responsibilities” do you think will be applicable to us? As you can imagine, we’re trying to get a firm idea of exactly what the costs will be. If easier to discuss over the phone, let’s set up a time to talk. Thanks again for your help.
