An International Affair to Remember

We officially arrived on the international stage when our first flight touched down in Canada’s entertainment and business capital, Toronto. To celebrate, Virgin America rolled out the red carpet and took to the air with a star studded celebration flight hosted by Sir Richard Branson. Joining Sir Richard on this champagne-fueled flight was among others, Cheryl Burke and hip-hop's hottest new star, Toronto native and Grammy nominated artist, Drake. In honor of the occasion, VX flight 200 was dubbed "Air Drake".

The Search For Our Provocateur Is On

We also just kicked off our search for the "Virgin America Toronto Provocateur", our brand ambassador, whose mission is to stir things up and spread the word about us on the Toronto scene. The winner gets some sweet swag too: a year of flights, access to all Virgin America events, a one-year Virgin Mobile Canada plan, and an HTC Legend smartphone. We’ll promote their blogs and serve up video content via our in-flight entertainment so you’ll be able to share their travel experiences.

Doing Well By Doing Good

We’re donating $1 for every Toronto Provocateur submission to Virgin Unite’s Young Entrepreneurs Program which provides training and seed funds to disadvantaged young people. We flew in a handful of Young Entrepreneurs and mentors on our celebration flight to recognize and celebrate their achievements. These future rainmakers got to mingle with Eric Ryan (co-founder of Method), Jason Pomeranc and Tony Cohen (co-owners of Thompson Toronto), Courtney and Carter Reum (co-founders of eco-friendly spirit company VeeV) and other outside-the-box business leaders en route to YYZ.
