There have been some recent actions by the EPA that are favorable towards
PolyMet’s predicament. In general the Administration/EPA seems to be
anti-mining but more as it relates to mountain-top coal mining. However, the
EPA just approved a mountain-top mine permit it had previously blocked. It
also removed some hurdles for a nickel mine in Michigan to begin mining.
This would be the first nickel mine in the US…I’ve included more details in
the document.

What's the general attitude of the Administration to these types of
projects. Have any other similar projects been approved. Has Polymet been
singled out or is there a move to stop all similar new mining projects like
this?
