Hello --

I don't know what I expected her to say -- but I expected her to say something.

Governor Reynolds should've urged Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst to vote against the president's plan to take healthcare from 128,000 Iowans -- people like my neighbors, my former students, and my friends. But she didn't.

And now both of our senators voted to move the plan forward and put Iowans' lives at risk.

But this doesn't have to be the end. Governor Reynolds should join my friend Todd Prichard in supporting a Medicaid for all plan to ensure every Iowan has access to care, no matter what Washington decides to do next.

Tell Governor Reynolds to work with Todd and Iowa Democrats to pass a Medicaid for all plan, and ensure every Iowan has access to affordable healthcare:

Listen, this issue is personal to me.

As a former educator of kids with special needs, I worked with hundreds of children whose families faced challenges most folks can't imagine. Many of them racked up considerable debt paying for healthcare, making it even harder to make ends meet. And I saw the difference access to Medicaid made for so many of them.

When the Affordable Care Act passed, I was overjoyed to imagine how many of my former students and their families would see a bit of their burden lifted with access to affordable care.

I'm thrilled that Todd wants to lift that burden even further by giving every Iowan a chance to buy into Medicaid if he becomes governor, but Iowans shouldn't have to wait.

I'm asking you to join me, Todd, and thousands of other Iowans in urging Governor Reynolds to support Todd's Medicaid for all plan today. Will you add your name?
