Ok, I bought some Nike Frees yesterday - going to try them out tonight. Thanks for the recommendation. John read that Born to Run book last year - at your suggestion, I think. I have seen people running in socks only in Boston! (I won't be doing that.) Have fun in Chicago and hopefully we will get to see you and Kathleen again soon.

Kathleen wears Nike Lunar Glides or Nike Frees. The important thing
if your knees and ankles hurt is to pay attention to how you're feet
are striking the ground. You should be landing more on the balls of
your feet and not your heels when you run- which means taking a
shorter stride. Go to the website borntorun.org where they will
advocate running bare foot- I haven't quite bought on to that yet but
the thinking behind it is pretty interesting.
