Hope you're doing well. Anything new going on? Has work slowed down at
all or still as busy as ever? My sister and her kids are here visiting.
In spite of each of them getting sick at some point, they're really
enjoying Peru. Tracy and I are heading to Amazon (Iquitos) for a long
weekend without the kids in the few weeks. It was interesting to see
this morning on CNN.com that the Peruvian Amazon made the list of the
top nine international destinations for 2011. Your kids are the perfect
age for a visit to Peru.


I'm enjoying the quiet time with most of our staff out of the office. I
just deleted 6,000 e-mails, but it's giving me a chance to catch up and
say hello.


Work continues to go well. We have a new Ambassador who, like our last
Ambassador, is a big fan of USAID. We'll see what Congress does with
our budgets, though, in the new session.
