Attorneys and authorized house counsel must complete the registration process by March 1, 2011. <o:p></o:p></font></span></p> <p><span style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><font color=#000000>Unless exempted, attorneys and authorized house counsel are required to register online through Judicial Branch E-Services. An attorney must be enrolled in E-Services before using E-Services to register. E-Services may be accessed at the Judicial Branch website: </font><a href="http://www.jud.ct.gov/"><font color=#800080>www.jud.ct.gov</font></a><font color=#000000>.<o:p></o:p></font></span></p> <p><font color=#000000><u><span style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">Please note the following</span></u><span style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">:<o:p></o:p></span></font></p> <p><span style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><font color=#000000>1. Enrollment into E-Services is <u>not</u> the same as registering. <o:p></o:p></font></span></p> <p><span style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><font color=#000000>2. Online registration through E-Services applies to all <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:state w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Connecticut</st1:place></st1:state> admitted attorneys and authorized house counsel.<o:p></o:p></font></span></p> <p><span style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><font color=#000000>3. Firms do not register.<o:p></o:p></font></span></p> <p><span style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><font color=#000000>4. <st1:state w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Connecticut</st1:place></st1:state> attorneys register only under their individual, "A" type juris numbers. Authorized house counsel register under their "C" type juris numbers. Each admitted attorney and authorized house counsel has an individual juris number. Attorneys do <u>not</u> register under companion juris numbers if they have them (e.g. "S" - State’s Attorney, "D" - Public Defender, "G" - Attorney General).<o:p></o:p></font></span></p> <p><span style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><font color=#000000>5. Attorneys who have retired pursuant to Practice Book Sec. 2-55 are required to register.<o:p></o:p></font></span></p> <p><span style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><font color=#000000>6. The attorney occupational tax is overseen and collected by the Department of Revenue Services, which is an Executive Branch agency. The Judicial Branch has nothing to do with the collection of this tax. Questions regarding the occupational tax should be directed to the DRS at (860) 297-5962.<o:p></o:p></font></span></p> <p><span style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><font color=#000000>7.
