Dear Parents,

The upcoming 11th grade community service project has gotten of to a great start, and we want to thank all of you parents who had your student bring in items for the toiletry bags. Quite a number of toiletry items were donated; enough for our team of volunteers yesterday to assemble 50 complete toiletry bags! We had extra items left over, and we thought we would try to make an additional 50 toiletry bags, if we could get some additional items donated. For example, we would like to have 30 toothbrushes, 50 tooth pastes, 50 shampoo and 35 deodorant donated to include in the other bags. We would love to receive them by Friday. The collection box will be in the Dean's office for the remainder of the week, so please feel free to have your student drop them off on the way, in between or after school. We thank you in advance.

As you know, the toiletry bags are but one part of the entire service project. The hard part, or shall we say the challenging part, of the project will be the day of the event. A recent perusal of the electronic sign-up sheet indicates that there are many of you who have yet to sign up or have your student sign up. We cannot emphasize enough how important this aspect of the service project is. Remember, if you sign up for a slot to bring a certain item, you are expected to serve food for that hour. Or please let us know if you can’t serve the food but are willing to bring the food.
