. The bipartisan commission was created by President Obama to identify policies to improve the country’s fiscal situation and balance the budget by 2015 and to achieve fiscal sustainability over the long term.

served as the executive director of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform. Following his term on the commission, he returned to his position as CEO of the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC).

Mr. Reed served for eight years in the Clinton-Gore White House. As President Clinton’s chief domestic policy advisor and director of the Domestic Policy Council, he developed and oversaw the administration's agenda on welfare reform, crime, education, tobacco and other domestic issues.
