In his breakfast visit, the Vice President spent some extra time at a table set aside for about 15 Delaware residents serving in Afghanistan.
U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 Chris Cummings held up a print out of the Dover Post as the Vice President approached.
"It's a big deal for me being from Delaware and getting a table of Delawareans together," Cummings said in an interiew afterward. "It's unique. There are not many people over here from Delaware. But getting an opportunity to meet him - regardless of your political beliefs or backgrounds - it's always good to see your civilian leadership and it really meant a lot to all of us."
The table commiserated with Biden over some recent sports setbacks: the Philadelphia Eagles playoff loss and the University of Delaware defeat in the Division 1AA football championship.
"I'm a huge Eagles fan so Andy Reid if you're listening I'm coming out of the military in about three years and I want to play for you."
