Good afternoon everyone, Lorenzo asked me to forward on this information - Allegedly, California High Speed Rail Authority isn’t hiring enough minority-owned contractors (according to a lawsuit being filed by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights). Maybe CHSR will make a big push for MBE suppliers to avoid the bad press. Unfortunately, the Lawyers’ Committee is pushing for the government to delay funding to the HSR project until this is investigated. Here are a few articles about it: http://humanrights.change.org/blog/view/where_are_the_minority_contractors_on_californias_high_speed_rail_project http://articles.latimes.com/2010/dec/09/local/la-me-rail-complaint-20101209 Regards, Caitlin Caitlin Yardeny Transatlantic Energy Group 601 13th Street NW 11th Floor South Washington, DC 20005 Office: 202-534-1780 Mobile: 646-525-7197
