Your Dad is amazing! -----Original Message----- From: Elisa D Parker [mailto:PARKERE@realtracs.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 18, 2011 3:40 PM To: Klain, Ron Subject: My son Hi Ron. Hope all is well. Just wanted to let you know what an awesome thing Joe Biden did yesterday. He called me to encourage us to take Campbell to see "The King's Speech". We had, indeed, seen the movie, and it was great to talk about it with the Vice President. He and Campbell talked for a while about the movie and details in it that were very similar to what Biden had discussed with Campbell back in July. How meaningful it was to Campbell and our entire family that he thought of Campbell while seeing the movie and then took the time to pick up the phone and call him!! An amazing act, especially since I watched him all last week negotiating in Afghanistan! At the end of our conversation Biden told me to be sure and bring Campbell to see him when we were next in DC. I will actually be in DC next month for the DNC meeting, but unfortunately Campbell will be in school and unable to accompany me. However, I will go ahead and plant this seed in your head. Campbell will be in 8th grade next school year and it is tradition at his school that the 8th grade class take a spring trip to DC. My oldest son was in 8th grade 2 years ago and I was successful (and grateful!) at getting his class into the White House for a general tour. Something that no other class had been able to do, so they were all quite excited. None was more excited than I was though, since we live in a very, very republican county! I loved those kids going home and talking about the Obama White House! Anyway, I'm just imagining that Campbell would love to introduce his classmates to his friend Vice President Joe Biden during their trip in March of 2012! I did have the opportunity to write a little op-ed in the Tennessean regarding what I called "The Human Side of Politics". They ran it in early January. I am attaching a link to that issue of the paper if you would like to take a look. I received much positive feedback and consensus on Joe Biden's character! Thank you again for everything. I know its tough days ahead on Capitol Hill. Good luck! Elisa Elisa Parker Affiliate Broker Embark Real Estate Services 615-589-6241 parkere@realtracs.com
