Robert, two weeks ago, I made a big decision – I decided to endorse Katie McGinty in her campaign for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania.

Here's why: Katie will go to the Senate and fight for the middle class because it's who she is. She was raised as one of 10 children by a father who was a Philadelphia police officer and a mother who was a restaurant hostess. She knows what it's like for families who struggle to make ends meet because she watched her parents do it.

As Pennsylvania’s first woman senator, Katie will be a champion in the fight for equal pay for equal work, a higher minimum wage and reduced student debt. She’ll lead the effort to raise incomes for middle-class families and ensure every child has the opportunity for an early education.

The Cook Political Report just changed Pennsylvania’s race rating from “Lean Republican” to “Toss Up” and The Washington Post calls it one of the top Senate seats “most likely to change parties in November.”
