Rep. Barney Frank has been a progressive partner and champion for decades. His incisive
mind and sharp humor make him a natural for our 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award.

Rep. Frank was instrumental in passing the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer
Protection Act, a law that the Washington Post has called "the most sweeping overhaul
of the nation's financial regulatory system since the Great Depression."

Barney Frank represents the 4th Congressional District of Massachusetts, and he
is also the Ranking Member of the House Financial Services Committee. Yesterday,
November 28, Rep. Frank announced he would not seek re-election in 2012.

Lenore Palladino is the Field Director of MoveOn.org, focusing on MoveOn's field
program and economic justice campaigning. She joined MoveOn in 2007 and built MoveOn's

in-house field organizing program, which has more than 200 volunteer driven councils.
The field network this year has organized more than 10,000 rapid response local
actions, lobby days, press conferences, and rallies to fight for jobs, against big
banks, solidarity with Wisconsin, and economic justice in all 435 Congressional
Districts.

Rep. Keith Ellison

Keith Ellison has represented the Fifth Congressional District of Minnesota in the
U.S. House of Representatives since taking office on January 4, 2007. The Fifth
Congressional District is the most vibrant and ethnically diverse district in Minnesota
with a rich history and traditions. The 5th District includes the City of Minneapolis
and the surrounding suburbs.

Keith's philosophy is one of generosity and inclusiveness. His roots as a community
activist and his message of inclusivity through democratic participation resonates
throughout the Fifth District. His priorities in Congress are: promoting peace,
prosperity for working families, environmental sustainability, and civil and human
rights.

Susan Blad Seldin Internship Award

Ashley Dinzey

The Susan Blad Seldin Internship Award recognizes an outstanding Midwest Academy
Intern in the area of field organizing and encourages her/him to consider a career
in organizing.
This award is in memory of Susan Blad Seldin who was a veteran grassroots organizer
who worked to elect progressives and promote progressive causes in thirty-four states.

This year's award will be presented to Ashley Dinzey.

A 2011 Midwest Academy Intern, Ashley is currently a community organizer with Southsiders
Organized for Unity and Liberation (SOUL), a non-profit grassroots organization
that works with church leaders and South Chicagoland residents to win improvements
in their communities. Ashley began working with SOUL when she returned to her hometown
of Chicago for the Midwest Academy Internship.
