You know those dogs that whine and whine to be let out, and when you let 'em out, they whine and whine to be let back in?

That, folks, is today's GOP.

Republicans whine and whine about the deficit. When they get a chance to cut it, they balk. Why? Because billionaires and corporations would have to pay their fair share. Heck, Republicans even demand that the top 1% get PERMANENT tax cuts!

Here's who Republicans would have shoulder the burden: Seniors on Medicare and Social Security. The unemployed. Anybody but their big-shot friends.

It's time to fight back. Election Day is less than a year away, and the DSCC still has $115,000 left to raise to reach its $500,000 goal before tomorrow's midnight FEC deadline. Outraising the GOP creates momentum. If we cede momentum to the Republicans now, then we lose the Senate and White House. The GOP takeover would be complete.

If you think Republicans are playing hardball now, just wait. If they win in 2012, and gain complete control of Washington, they will unravel our social safety net right out from under the middle class Americans who depend on it.

Here's the deal: Republicans are philosophically opposed to protecting and defending the social safety net. Even if you can't afford boots, they still demand that you pull yourself up by the nonexistent straps.

And we're in danger of this ideology taking power. Democrats are defending more than two seats for every Republican one in 2012. If Republicans flip just four, "more for the most" will become the law of the land.

You know that the pundits and political prognosticators are waiting to pounce on these FEC reports. If Democrats fall short, they'll say the Republican ideology is winning. They'll say that the 1% has won. They'll say it's time for Democrats to give up. And we'll all get mad and stomp around and yell at the TV, which is entirely unproductive.

So let's avoid that entirely. Give $5 or $10 right now. It's the best thing you can do RIGHT NOW to make sure the 99% still has a voice on Nov. 7, 2012.
