As a friend of Mark Shriver, we wish to invite you to *a public dialogue* * a private reception* with him on his new book, *Pilgrimage: My Search for the Real Pope Francis*, at Georgetown University *next Monday evening, December 5*. The dialogue, hosted by our Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life <https://catholicsocialthought.georgetown.edu/> and titled "The Search for Pope Francis with Mark Shriver <https://catholicsocialthought.georgetown.edu/events/the-search-for-pope-francis-with-mark-shriver> ", will take place in Copley Formal Lounge from 6:30 - 8:00 pm, with the reception following immediately after in Riggs Library on the third floor of Healy Hall from 8:00 - 9:30 pm. Please RSVP for the Dialogue <https://catholicsocialthought.georgetown.edu/events/the-search-for-pope-francis-with-mark-shriver/rsvp> itself if you have not yet done so, there is no need to RSVP directly for the reception. The event will be a candid conversation with Mark, author of the much acclaimed book about his father Sargent Shriver, on the story of his search for the heart and soul of the real Pope Francis in the slums of Argentina and the halls of the Vatican. Y ou may direct any questions to my colleague Kevin Sullivan (kevin.sullivan@georgetown.edu). We hope that you can join for both the interesting Public Dialogue and private reception. We thank you for your support of the Initiative. John *John Carr* *Director, Initiative on * *Catholic Social Thought and Public Life* *Georgetown University* *202-687-1599
