I feel terrible that you beat me to the punch with your note. I've been meeting with students this morning, working on the Karl Rove/Howard Dean event for next Monday.

I really appreciate meeting you yesterday in Washington, hearing your valuable thoughts about the future of this project, the content of the Institute, and – especially – your enthusiasm for it. I'm very glad to have had the chance to fill in a bit more for you about the overall project. I think you realize now that this is much bigger than "the papers" (although, of course, the papers are the very crucial first step). I hope you agree that the bigger picture is truly an exciting prospect. (And I'm glad we had a chance to explore "the building" just a bit, too!)

This was an important moment for us. I suspect we'll have many more conversations over the next few years, some of them exciting, some of them challenging. The Center for Political Communication has already "come to life" in a big way, but what's ahead is even more exciting.

Thank you again, for your time, for your insight, for your ideas, and for your enthusiasm.
