Good Afternoon Team- Eric, Rob and I had a call this afternoon with Scott Morris from Aqua Sciences. Scott is Aqua's main salesman and explained to us a few of the opportunities he is working on. Scott's biggest focus is on working with counties and other entities (school districts, port authorities, etc) to apply for funding through FEMA to purchase Aqua machines. It essentially works like this, after FEMA declares a county a natural disaster area, that county is entitled to apply for funding through various programs (Aqua is applicable in the Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs). Given Scott's background working at FEMA, he is able to walk the prospective grantee through the process of applying for funds. In the end, the entity is essentially able to purchase Aqua machines using 75-100% FEMA money. Please take a minute to look at the following site: http://www.gismaps.fema.gov/2010pages/lcurrent.shtm If you click on the "Disaster Number" on the left, you can then see which counties in each state are able to apply for funding through the Public Assistance and/or Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs. Recent states that have had natural disaster areas declared include NE, WI, NY, NC, MN, AZ, US Virgin Islands, SD, TN, NM, IL and MO. Please let one of us know if you have any contacts with municipalities, port authorities, school districts, hospitals, etc. in these states. Feel free to send over any ideas and I can work through its viability. Also attached is the Aqua Sales Cheat Sheet we put together as another reference. Thanks for your help!
