Not true... STEVEN CHU RUMORS - EnergyNow! - funded by the American Clean Skies Foundation, the natural gas advocates created by Chesapeake Energy - says the DOE chief may be leaving after the midterms: "Besides the pressure cooker atmosphere at the leadership level that DOE veterans say transcends administrations and burns out the best of appointees, one source said Chu had expected to do more science and less politics. The source added the White House isn't happy with what's seen as Chu's slow pace getting stimulus money out the door." The report lists potential replacements, including: Retiring Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.), retiring Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter (D), retiring Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell (D) and the not-retiring FERC Chairman Jon Wellinghoff. Chu spokeswoman Stephanie Mueller's response to EnergyNow: "He's not going anywhere."
