President Donald Trump on Tuesday said Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore "totally denies" recent allegations that he years ago pursued inappropriate relationships with younger women and said Republicans "don't need a liberal person" to win the seat.

The comments were Trump's most direct so far on the allegations against Moore, a Republican. Trump noted that the allegations involved years-old incidents and said Democrat Doug Jones' record was "terrible on crime. It's terrible on the border. It's terrible on the military."
