Dear Families,

I am looking forward to meeting with each of you and your son or daughter during conferences next week.

I want to go over the conference format so that you know what to expect. Students have prepared talking points that they will cover during the meeting. At the end of their sharing, there will be an opportunity for parents to make comments or ask questions. Some families have expressed an interest in meeting with me separately without their child present for a few minutes after the conference. While I am happy to do this, I did not work it into to the original conference structure. I want students to feel a sense of ownership and responsibility in leading the conference and by asking them to step out, it may undermine their efforts. However, I understand that some issues are better addressed without a child present, so if you would like those five minutes for a separate check in, please just let me know.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

See you next week!

Thanks,

Lauren
