Join us at MAD this Sunday for a family-friendly day of dance and design!

Beginning at 10 am in our third-floor exhibition galleries, Studio Views (http://www.madmuseum.org/exhibition/studio-views-craft-expanded-field) artist-in-residence Xenobia Bailey will guide visitors in the drawing and design of their own concentric-circle paper mandalas. Alongside the workshop, our Museum Educators will hold a reading of Extra Yarn, written by Mac Barnett and illustrated by Jon Klassen.

From 10 am – noon in the 6th Floor Classroom, artist Leslie Diuguid will lead the public through the process of composing and screen-printing posters inspired by the iconography of civil rights and social justice movements inspired by the exhibition AMPL!FY (http://www.madmuseum.org/exhibition/amplfy) , currently on view in Project Space.

Then, from 12:30 to 2:30 pm, Kyle Marshall Choreography will present Lift (http://madmuseum.org/events/lift-kyle-marshall-choreography) , an original 10-minute dance piece produced in collaboration with Harlem Stage as a response to the ten poster artworks included in AMPL!FY (http://www.madmuseum.org/exhibition/amplfy) .
