Hey Hunter -- I'm trying to figure out how to respond to this. I know no one from the office "sent word" to the Onion from the VP. I'm not even sure he's aware of the satires they've done. But I wanted to check with you before I shot it down. I'm at 202-456-2773 or 202-503-5335.

Hi Jay. I cover media for The Times, and I'm writing a piece on The Onion's portrayals of Vice President Biden. It's going to be a pretty breezy article, as I'm sure you can imagine.

But we would love to get Mr. Biden's take on how he is written about. I understand from the folks at The Onion that he finds it all pretty amusing, and has even sent word that he'd like to be referred to as "Uncle Joe," which the writers have obliged.
