Members of the Board,

As it does not currently appear like we will have a quorum for tomorrow's call, we are CANCELING the call in favor of an email vote. Based on the recommendation of the Nominating Committee, I am formally asking for your vote to elect Michael Smith to ZERO's Board of Directors. His bio and feedback from Skip & Jamie are attached, and my recommendation is below.

PLEASE REPLY TO THIS EMAIL WITH THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT TO ELECT IF YOU ARE IN FAVOR:

"I vote to elect Michael Smith to the Board of Directors of ZERO - The Project to End Prostate Cancer."

Please copy & paste the statement above in your reply -- do not simply reply "Yes" as that is not sufficient for a formal vote. If you are against this election, please state so in your reply.

In the future, we will look to amend our by-laws (via the Executive Committee) to better take advantage of current technologies and allow for additional, more flexible methods of voting, etc. Please call me if you have any questions.

Following vetting by the Nominating Committee, Skip and Jamie met with Michael Smith last week and heartily recommend him for inclusion on the Board. I spoke with Michael over the phone and am similarly impressed. I believe he can really help us with our public policy/legislative strategy, as well as with a strategy for possibly reviving our PAC, as Michael has a ton of experience in this area. Attached for your review prior to the call is the feedback from Skip & Jamie and Michael's bio.

FYI, we will also soon be scheduling a full Board meeting via conference call for early December, as well as sending out the schedule for the 3 in-person Board meetings in DC for 2011 (one in Jan/Feb, one in May/June, and one in September in conjunction with the Summit to End Prostate Cancer, as we did this year).
