Dear Hunter,

Yesterday, as a direct result of your hard work and the hard work of all those who work in the Attorney General's office, we received the most votes of any candidate in Maryland history in a non-Presidential year, garnering support from every corner of the state and endorsements from a wide range of organizations including law enforcement, environmental groups, business associations, and the Afro-American newspapers, among others.

So with this first-ever blast email in my 12 years of elected public service, I want first and foremost to express my sincere gratitude for your continued support and trust to serve another term as Maryland Attorney General. We could not have done it without you and we take that responsibility very, very seriously.

Over the past four years, we have made considerable progress in the way that the Office of the Attorney General protects both Maryland's citizens and Maryland's precious natural resources. We established Maryland's first statewide gang prosecution unit, which has enabled us to coordinate crime fighting efforts across the State and successfully combat gang activity. We have aggressively targeted those who have tried to cheat Marylanders through fraud, including the predatory lenders that contributed to the foreclosure crisis and the foreclosure rescue scam artists who preyed on its victims - securing more than $80 million dollars for Marylanders. Through ongoing audits of the miles of watersheds that feed into the Chesapeake Bay, we have proactively identified and prosecuted polluters who have harmed our state's most precious natural resource - obtaining the largest water pollution penalty in Maryland's history. We have fought for civil rights by advocating marriage equality and assertively enforcing laws intended to protect voters. We have promoted Internet safety and transparency so that our children can safely utilize the Internet.

I am proud of our progress, but the work is not yet finished, much remains to be done. Over the next four years, I pledge that I will expand on our successes and continue to defend our families, fight fraud, safeguard our natural resources, and protect your rights.
