Dear Liz,

Thank you for being willing to help me navigate the Tom's internship
process. As JR may have told you, I am very eager to pursue an internship
this summer that is at the intersection of international affairs,
marketing and social good, areas where I have focused my studies at the
University of Pennsylvania. I was raised in a family where giving back has
always been a top priority, which is why I want to work for a company that
focuses on giving back and improving lives. What attracts me to Tom's,
other than the fact that I've been wearing them since they became available
in DC, is that Tom's has virtually created a new type of business model -
one that combines, international affairs and social good yet still
generates a profit.

I've attached my resume so that you can gather a sense of my background and
previous experiences. I would be happy to come to LA to meet you in person
or set up a time to talk over the phone if that is preferable to you.
