> Dear Mr. Vice President,
>
> I’m thrilled to let you know that my father will be receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award on Saturday, June 4 in Boston, MA from the Alpha Omega Council <http://www.alphaomegacouncil.org/>. Here <http://www.alphaomegacouncil.org/lifetime-achievement/press-release/> is the announcement.
>
> Our family would be honored and deeply touched if you would consider saying a few words on video (literally from 10 seconds to 1 minute) that would be included in a tribute video played that evening.
>
> As you know, my father has devoted much of his professional career to promoting Hellenism and religious freedom for the Ecumenical Patriarchate with senior US policymakers. This includes tens-of-millions of dollars of pro-bono work. Earlier in his career, he distinguished himself serving as the youngest advance man for President Lyndon Johnson, youngest Assistant Secretary in the Carter Administration, and youngest US Senate Committee Staff Director. As you may recall, his father, Mike Manatos (after whom I’m named, in the Greek tradition), served for years on Capitol Hill as an Administrative Assistant, then as President Kennedy's and President Johnson’s Senate Liaison. And I have worked at my father’s side for over 26 years.
>
> In all, a Manatos has been working in or with the US Government for over 80 years - over one-third of the history of our country.
>
> If you are able to record such a video greeting, I’m happy to work with your staff to get this done in any number of ways: in a nearby recording studio or even using a video camera or iphone (with some pointers from our video producer). We are hoping to secure these videos before May 25.
>
> Thank you for considering this request. The Manatos family truly treasures our work with you over the years toward the betterment of our country and the world.
