Thank you all for your time on Monday. For those of you who were unable to attend, we nominated and approved the officers of the Foundation: Hallie, Hunter - Co-chairs, Ashley - Secretary, Fred - Treasurer.

We also approved the budget, which I’m attaching here with an update to the income side. Xanthi indicated on the call we should expect $150,000 from the Blue Dream event in the Hamptons this summer. I’m still having some issues with QuickBooks, but will have the accurate “actual” numbers for the budget entered soon.

Speaking of the Blue Dream fundraiser, I’ve attached the save the date. I hope all of you can come - I think it would be great to do the next board meeting around the event.

The other piece of follow up from the meeting is the committees of the board. We need an audit committee, a development committee and a governance committee.

Audit: Plans and supports audit of a major functions, e.g., finances, programs or organization

Development: Oversees development and implementation of the Fundraising Plan; identifies and solicits funds from external sources of support, working with the development staff

Governance: Responsible for the health and functioning of the board; recruits new members, conducts orientation, produces board materials, and evaluates the performance of the board itself.

I believe Fred offered to chair the development committee. If anyone is interested in chairing or co-chairing one of the others, please let me know in the next week or so.

Finally, Patty and I interviewed for an intern position, and we’re pleased to announce that Meghan Bahnson will be joining us in a part-time fashion from June 1 - August 29. She’s great, and I’m looking forward to all of you meeting here.
