I can relate. If all things still go as planned my first child will be a freshman around 2032 when the tuition will be around $75k a year. Awesome!
And let's be honest, Buckley will be the first bail request.

Love it Megan!!! Just after reading this, I drove my Freshman daughter Sadie to her "orientation" day at Archmere. She was welcomed by the entire senior class (and John Jordan) all out on Manor Ave with signs, horns and cheers. We beeped our way through the crowds and laughed. Such a fun way to help get rid of those first day jitters and welcome the kids. Archmere is a special place, for sure.

Subject: Re: Dave Manning - Archmere

Dave,

Thanks for getting this going! Count me in as well for $50.

On a personal note, as today is my daughter Shannon's 21st birthday (WTH?!), I think back to fall of 2008 when I forced her to go to Archmere to shadow for a day when she was already set on going to St Mark's with all her friends. Of course it helped that Mr Jordan broke the ice by cracking open the '88 yearbook right off the bat. Shannon immediately changed her mind and wanted to be an Auk that day.

Then came the financials... I was in the midst of my divorce and all that uncertainty (not to mention #CopSalariesSuck and #CheapAssExHusband ) and so I was praying that somehow I could make it happen. Between #CrazyCopOTHours and the Legacy Fund, it happened. Shannon graduated in 2013 and is about to start her senior year at UD as a nursing major. She's been on the Dean's list and has worked at Nemours ever since and Archmere provided that foundation. I am eternally grateful... Assuming she doesn't call me for bail money later today 😉

Anyway, I hope everyone is well and please stay safe !!

Megan

88ers,

Things I have spent more than $50 on just this month: Pizza, movie tix, sushi, a massage, gas, sunglasses, sandals, personal trainer, Phillies tix, wine, cooking classes, whatever my wife does at Nordstrom’s, pool floats, fishing equipment, charcoal, bathing suits, candle lantern, crab legs, tips for waiters/waitresses, hockey equipment, ice cream, mini golf, tee shirts, iTunes, pest control, home security service, boat rental, piano lessons, beer, flowers, party supplies, dry cleaning, lawn service, and shoes.

My Archmere experience and getting to know you was worth far more to me than any of the items listed above. I believe it was for you as well. With this in mind, I want you to commit $50 towards a sponsorship for Archmere’s Alumni Golf & Tennis Outing (see attached). Proceeds from the event support the Archmere Alumni Legacy Scholarship Fund, which provides financial aid to relatives of alums attending Archmere. Fax, email or just pick up the phone and call Ainsley like I did…her number is on the form. The process is simple and the sponsorship is tax deductible. There are higher levels of sponsorship if you wish to give more, but I am only asking you to commit $50 towards a basic sponsorship. Archmere is worth that much to us all.

My goal is to get 100% participation from everyone on this list. If you can’t commit $50 towards a sponsorship, let me know and I will pledge a sponsorship in your name. Thank you and I hope we can count on you for your support.
