Prom is coming up soon-a little over two weeks away on May 26! In case you feel in the dark about the details, we are writing to share important information about the event. Some info may not have come home with the students. We need RSVPs and payment from students by May 12. Invitations were posted on students lockers two weeks ago and an e-mail sent to students and parents with the instructions to register and pay for the prom. The deadline to register and pay is this Friday, May 12th. Please encourage your student to register on the google doc sent to them and bring in a check to Ms. Matthews in the Mr. Wood's office to pay for their ticket. Not having a date should not hold anyone back from coming to the prom as it's quite common for students to go without a date. Encourage your child to submit their seating preferences. To organize the seating arrangements in advance, we need to know from students which friends they would like to be seated with at the dinner. On Monday, May 15th, students will be asked to complete a signup genius poll asking them to identify a group of 6 friends (or 3 couples) that they would like to sit with during the prom dinner. We will do our best to accommodate the seating of those six. They can also identify a second group of six that they would like to be paired with. This needs to be completed by Friday, May 19th in order to organize our tables before the prom. Prom Dinner - dietary restrictions. If your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, we would like to know ahead of time in order to accommodate them. This can be included on the table group sign up or it can also be e-mailed to sfsprom2017@gmail.com. These requests must be made by Friday, May 19th. Parent volunteers needed for Prom night and Prom prep. There's a lot to do on prom night and setting up before and we can't do it without some help. Please try and volunteer if you can! If you are interested, please sign up at: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/20F0449A5AC22A13-sidwell1<http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0449A5AC22A13-sidwell1>. Prom Night Raffle. As a way to keep the after-party lively and fun, The Prom Committee is soliciting contributions for raffle prizes! Donations can be monetary or in-kind. For ease and convenience, the Committee has created a PayPal account to make a donation just for the prom raffle: paypal.me/promraffle2017<http://paypal.me/promraffle2017>.<http://paypal.me/promraffle2017> If you would like to learn more about how to support this effort and about in-kind suggestions, please read the attached letter from prom moms, Liz Norton, Sally Rosenberg, and Capricia Marshall or contact lizbnorton@gmail.com<mailto:lizbnorton@gmail.com>. Prom Night Itinerary. Although we sent this in an earlier email, here is the itinerary for Prom Night. 8- 8:15 pm: Students meet at Sidwell to board buses chaperoned by teachers. Students should each bring a change of clothing because the post-prom party takes place at the hotel, too (Prom swag is PJ bottoms which they can put on for post-prom). 8:30-8:45: Check in at the Four Seasons Hotel (2800 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC 20007) 8:30-9:30: Mocktail hour (non alcoholic drinks, appetizers, etc). The green screen is open for students to take pictures. A parent photographer will also be there to take additional photos. 9:30-midnight: Dinner and dancing in the Four Seasons ballroom. The students will have a full sit-down dinner. Our DJ will provide music through the entertainment. Midnight: Students will change into casual clothes. The prom committee will distribute Prom Swag. Midnight - 2:00 am: Post-prom party! Dessert will be served. There will be lots of entertainment (e.g. casino, ping pong, foosball, a photo booth, etc), as well many great prizes given out during the raffle. 2:00 am: Students get back onto the buses chaperoned by parents, and they are brought back to Sidwell. Any additional questions, please feel free to contact Prom Moms, Sherri Cafritz (stcafritz@gmail.com<mailto:stcafritz@gmail.com>), Sally McCarthy (sem35@georgetown.edu<mailto:sem35@georgetown.edu>), or Susannah Wellford (susannah@runningstartonline.org<about:blank>). We are looking forward to a wonderful evening!
