ACTIVATE SALES MODE - GOP nonprofit launches $2 million campaign thanking Obamacare repeal backers: "American Action Network, a nonprofit with ties to House Speaker Paul Ryan, will spend $2 million over the next 11 days in 21 districts running TV ads to thank Republicans who voted for the GOP's Obamacare repeal bill Thursday. The ads will only thank members who voted for the legislation. Vulnerable members who voted against the bill - such as Virginia Rep. Barbara Comstock, Colorado Rep. Mike Coffman and others - won't receive any help." Full story.

- DCCC, DSCC release web ads after Obamcare repeal vote: "Both the DSCC and the DCCC are out with digital ads attacking Republicans for their vote to repeal Obamacare, a sign of how powerful Democrats believe the issue will be in the 2018 midterms. The DCCC is running an ad outlining the impact of the law on Facebook and Instagram in 30 districts belonging to vulnerable House incumbents, including Reps. Martha McSally of Arizona, Steve Knight of California, Carlos Curbelo of Florida, Rod Blum of Iowa, Jason Lewis of Minnesota and Barbara Comstock of Virginia. (Comstock voted against the bill.) The committee is likely to follow up with more ads and attacks during the upcoming congressional

- American Bridge is out with a 60-second digital ad, telling Senate Republicans: "Trumpcare is your mess now."

- Here are the Republicans who voted against the legislation. Big campaign names on the list include Rep. Barbara Comstock, Rep. Will Hurd and Rep. Mike Coffman. Full list here. Full roll call vote here.

- The bill's House passage led to an online fundraising bonanza. By the end of Thursday night, Daily Kos had raised more than $600,000 to fund challengers to vulnerable Republicans since the vote. Swing Left, another Democratic group, had raised more than $500,000 in 24 hours. But Democrats aren't the only ones taking advantage of the moment online: The NRCC sent out an email-gathering petition congratulating House Republicans for passing the Obamacare repeal bill Thursday afternoon.

DEMOCRATIC POLLING - House Majority PAC poll shows very close GA-06 race, with Ossoff at 50 percent and Handel at 48 percent: The Democratic super PAC's poll of the Georgia runoff is yet another datapoint pointing toward an ultra-competitive six-and-a-half week sprint for Tom Price's old House seat. It's the second Democratic survey this week (after one from the Ossoff campaign) showing a margin of error race with Ossoff just in front, though internal polling should always be taken with a grain of salt. House Majority PAC's polling memo from GBA Strategies notes that "both candidates have name ID well over 90 percent, both partisan bases are almost completely consolidated, and only 2
percent of likely voters are undecided." More keys: Handel leads 52-43 among independents, but Ossoff is winning Democrats 99-1 while Handel is at 91-7 among Republicans in the poll. GBA also says Ossoff voters are more committed to voting in the June runoff. Republican efforts in the district have focused on pumping up enthusiasm, and millions more in spending is on the way this month. See the polling memo here.

MORE HEALTH CARE - ON DEFENSE - "The House Republicans who could lose their jobs over Obamacare repeal," by Campagin Pro's Kevin Robillard: "The Obamacare repeal vote on Thursday could send dozens of House Republicans to electoral doom in the fall of 2018 - a mirror image of the shellacking Democrats suffered after passing the law seven years ago. ... During [the] 1993 budget vote, Republican members famously and facetiously waved goodbye to Democratic Rep. Marjorie Margolies after she cast the deciding vote for the plan, following a phone call from Bill Clinton. On Thursday, Democrats sang 'Na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye' as the vote count hit 217. Here's who they were serenading." A
sampling of the Republican incumbents highlighted: Rep. Darrell Issa of California (Hillary Clinton won 51 percent in his district while Issa won 50 percent in 2016), Rep. Martha McSally of Arizona (Clinton: 50 percent, McSally: 57 percent in 2016) and Rep. Carlos Curbelo of Florida (Clinton: 57 percent, Curbelo: 53 percent in 2016). Full story.

LET'S START OVER - "Senate GOP rejects House Obamacare bill," by Burgess Everett and Jennifer Haberkorn: ""We're writing a Senate bill and not passing the House bill," said Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn). "We'll take whatever good ideas we find there that meet our goals." ... The two chambers have not coordinated much in recent weeks as the House - with an assist from the White House - frantically worked to kick the health care bill to the other side of the Capitol. Senate Republicans say they'll take the time they need to understand the House bill's ramifications. And they will insist on a score from the Congressional Budget Office before voting, unlike the House. ... Senate Republicans are
considering staunching the coverage losses projected under the House by altering the Medicaid repeal, making tax credits more generous and strengthening protections for people with pre-existing conditions." Full story.

- "Red-state Dems pounce on Obamacare repeal bill," by Elana Schor: "Red-state Democratic senators who once hoped for a bipartisan fix to Obamacare now have nothing to work with but the House GOP's repeal plan. So they're lining up to trash it. All 10 Senate Democrats up for reelection next year in states won by President Donald Trump joined their leaders in vilifying the Obamacare repeal passed by the House passed Thursday." Full story.

HOLD UP - Sinema doesn't rule out running for Senate: Yesterday's reports about Democratic Rep. Krysten Sinema ruling out a run against Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake may have been a bit premature. KPNX's Brahm Resnik reports: "Several Democratic sources tell me Sinema reps were calling concerned Arizona supporters Thursday morning to reassure them: 'Nothing's changed.' In other words, she's still considering a Senate run. In an exchange of text messages Thursday, Sinema told me: 'I've said what I always say. I'm currently running for re-election.' She added, 'Check out the interview.'" Full story.

FIRST IN SCORE - Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC runs candidate training: The group founded by former Rep. Gabby Giffords will host a training for about 30 participants, including candidates and campaign staffers, today. The group will focus on policy proposals for gun violence and how to message to voters on the issue. A spokeswoman for Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC said the group plans to host more trainings across the country over the course of the cycle.

PRIMARY WATCH - "Senate Leadership Fund fires warning shot against Luther Strange challengers," by POLITICO's Kevin Robillard and Daniel Strauss: "Allies of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell are sending a foreboding message to anyone who challenges rookie Alabama Sen. Luther Strange. The NRSC has already said it intends to reject consultants and vendors who work with challengers to Strange or any other incumbents, and now Senate Leadership Fund ... is very openly digging up dirt on Alabama state Senate President Pro Tem Del Marsh's ties to unpopular ex-Gov. Robert Bentley." Full story.

GUESS WHO'S BACK - "Hillary Clinton to launch political group as soon as next week," via POLITICO's Gabriel Debenedetti: "The former secretary of State is building a new political group to fund organizations working on the resistance to President Donald Trump's agenda, spending recent weeks in Washington, New York City and Chappaqua, N.Y., meeting with donors and potential groups to invest in, and recruiting individuals for the group's board of directors, multiple people close to the two-time White House hopeful and people familiar with the group's planning told POLITICO. She is looking to launch the group, expected to be called Onward Together - a nod to her campaign slogan, Stronger
Together - as soon as next week, they say." Full story.

SPECIAL ELECTION UPDATE - "Federal judge orders Georgia to reopen voter registration ahead of 6th District runoff," by The Atlanta Journal Constitution's Kristina Torres: "A federal judge on Thursday ordered Georgia to temporarily reopen voter registration ahead of a hotly contested congressional runoff in the 6th District. U.S. District Judge Timothy Batten made the ruling as part of a broader lawsuit by a Washington-based advocacy group, which last month accused Georgia of violating federal law by reducing the amount of time residents have to register to vote. Voter registration shut down March 20 ahead of the deciding runoff June 20 for the 6th District election, which is being held in
the northern suburbs of metro Atlanta. Batten, however, ordered registration immediately reopened until May 21." Full story.

- Donald Trump Jr. will return to Montana to campaign again for Republican Greg Gianforte on May 11, with rallies in Helena, Great Falls and Sidney, per Gianforte's campaign. The special election to replace Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is on May 25.

- "Contrary to Quist ads, tax liens weren't Gianforte's, says company that bought RightNow," by The Billings Gazette's Tom Lutey: "International software giant Oracle Corp. has debunked U.S. House candidate Rob Quist's claim that 22 tax liens were filed against his Republican opponent and Bozeman-based RightNow Technologies from 2012 to 2015." GIVE ME THAT POLL TIME RELIGION - "Pollsters: We didn't blow the election," by POLITICO's Steven Shepard: "Serious polling failures in the 2016 election were mostly confined to a few states and were primarily the result of late-deciding voters and a historic voting gap according to educational attainment, according to a new report Thursday. The American Association for Public Opinion Research's much-anticipated 2016 election polling review concludes that the national polling was 'generally correct and accurate by historical standards,' but some state polls, especially in the Upper Midwest, underestimated Donald Trump's standing - all leading to Trump's surprising victory in last year's
presidential race. 'While the general public reaction was that 'the polls failed,' we found the reality to be more complex - a position held by a number of industry experts,' the report concludes. 'Some polls, indeed, had large, problematic errors, but many polls did not.'" Full story.
