R.Hunter: The health care plan House Republicans forced through is as callous as it is dangerous.

The Affordable Care Act isn't perfect. However, this bill doesn't work to fix those imperfections - rather, it creates devastation. It makes it more difficult for millions of Americans to get care - which is more expensive and less comprehensive.

Under this new bill, insurers could no longer have to help struggling families pay for the most basic medical care. Cancer survivors could be discriminated against because of the horrors they've already gone through. Mothers could be charged more because insurers can say giving birth is a preexisting condition.

That is simply unacceptable, R.Hunter. I am going to fight to protect the health care of every Delawarean and every American, but I need you to make your voice heard as well. Click here to tell Senate Republicans to reject this dangerous bill!

The legislation passed by the House would give the power to decide what's best for your health to corporations. In some states, insurers could no longer be required to cover maternity care or mental health services. It would take away coverage from 24 million people, while older Americans' premiums could spike to potentially five times as much as those for younger people. It will even slash funding for Medicaid programs dedicated to helping students with special needs.

Doctors, hospitals, experts and health advocates all agree that this bill is wrong for Americans - we need to listen to them and do our part to stop it before it upends the lives of families in every county, in every state across the country.
