Dear Robert,

Many of the women in our families are getting underpaid, and that simply needs to stop.

Republicans relentlessly oppose equal pay measures and other workplace protections for women like paid maternity leave.

If we are going to guarantee these protections for our mothers, sisters, and daughters, we need to get as many Democrats elected to the Virginia House of Delegates this fall as we can. 17 total to be exact.

In Virginia, women make only 80% of what men earn regardless of educational level, which amounts to a wage loss of $10,500 per year. For women that are aging or nonwhite, the disparity is even worse.

This is unacceptable and exactly why we need to support candidates who will fight against an unfair system.

Support VIRGINIAN CANDIDATES WHO WILL FIGHT FOR:

Educational measures that will prepare girls for more high-paying jobs, particularly in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

Policies that ensure workers are compensated fairly based on merit—not gender, race or age.

Instituting a maternity leave policy that supports new mothers, not discourages them.
