Hallie, Hunter and Fred— Just wanted you to be aware that we are working hard to get this fundraiser to the finish line! Patty Patricia Dailey Lewis, Esquire Executive Director Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children www.beaubidenfoundation.org <http://www.beaubidenfoundation.org/> patty@beaubidenfoundation.org <mailto:patty@beaubidennfoundation.org> “We have seen the progress that can be made when society commits to shining a bright light on a crime like domestic violence, and we are seeing the beginning of what can be accomplished if we continue shining that bright light on child abuse. As adults, we have a legal and moral obligation to stand up and speak out for children who are being abused. These children cannot speak for themselves.” —Beau Biden > Begin forwarded message: > > From: Patty Dailey Lewis <patty@beaubidenfoundation.org> > Subject: Re: Possible BBF Fundraiser with JRB - Oct 19/20 > Date: October 6, 2017 at 12:14:05 PM EDT > To: Valerie Biden Owens <hurricane5155@gmail.com>, Louisa Terrell <lterrell@bidenfoundation.org>, Steve Ricchetti <stevericchetti@gmail.com>, Melinda Medlin <mmedlin@vpbiden.org>, Kathy Chung <kchung@vpbiden.org> > Cc: Joshua Alcorn <josh@beaubidenfoundation.org>, Josh Alcorn <josh@beaubiden.com>, Katie Petrelius <kpetrelius@bidenfoundation.org> > > All- > > This is a remarkable opportunity for the BBF to engage with people that care about Beau, and folks that can help us grow our programming and become involved with the mission. > Josh has worked this out with the hosts- Eric Stein and John Rollins. They have built a great de-conflicted list. The time frame is quite short, and a 5pm-7pm cocktail hour would best suit our needs. This is also a remarkable opportunity for us to tell our story, for Beau’s friends to see how we are carrying out his mission and committed to his legacy. Our work with the current Castle brothers at Penn is very important- and these guys have a stake in that; its significant they appreciate their role. > > That is why its important to get this done now- these gentlemen are ready to get working- with the short timeline we need to give them the tools and resources for this event to be successful. > Thanks for understanding our desire and need to get this nailed down ASAP. > > Have a great weekend! > > Best— > Patty > Patricia Dailey Lewis, Esquire > Executive Director > Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children > > www.beaubidenfoundation.org <http://www.beaubidenfoundation.org/> > patty@beaubidenfoundation.org <mailto:patty@beaubidennfoundation.org> > > “We have seen the progress that can be made when society commits to shining a bright light on a crime like domestic violence, and we are seeing the beginning of what can be accomplished if we continue shining that bright light on child abuse. I spoke to Eric Stein about this last night. He’s a little anxious about hitting the 100k goal, but we talked about breaking it up in to 10 couples at 10k or more manageable pieces. He’s spoken with Johnny Rollins, who lives out there now, and he’s ready to help. I’ve also enlisted our friend Greg Mand, who hosted an event for B in the Valley in 2013. And Eric and I talked about hitting up Beau’s fraternity brothers (whether or not they can attend, they should support this event). I feel like there’s a 70% chance we hit the 100k goal. >>>>>>> Think it’s worth me chatting with the Vice President about this? >>>>>>> Thanks, >>>>>>> Josh >>>>>>> >>>>>>> Joshua Alcorn >>>>>>> 302.295.8340 (office) >>>>>>> 302.598.1885 (cell) >>>>>>> josh@beaubidenfoundation.org <mailto:josh@beaubidenfoundation.org> >>>>>>> >>>>>>>> On Oct 3, 2017, at 12:32 PM, Louisa Terrell <lterrell@bidenfoundation.org <mailto:lterrell@bidenfoundation.org>> wrote: >>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> Hi Josh, >>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> Running to a 12:30 but can we connect later this afternoon? >>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> From: Josh Alcorn <josh@beaubiden.com <mailto:josh@beaubiden.com>> on behalf of Joshua Alcorn <josh@beaubidenfoundation.org <mailto:josh@beaubidenfoundation.org>> >>>>>>>> Sent: Tuesday, October 3, 2017 11:10:50 AM >>>>>>>> To: Louisa Terrell; Katie Petrelius >>>>>>>> Cc: Steve Ricchetti; Valerie Biden Owens; Melinda Medlin; Kathy Chung; Patty Dailey Lewis >>>>>>>> Subject: Possible BBF Fundraiser with JRB - Oct 19/20 >>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> Hi Louisa! I spoke with Katie a few min ago. Michael Hochman called me about a fraternity brother of Beau’s - Eric Stein. Eric lives in Palo Alto and wanted to host a fundraiser for the BBF with the VP when he’s out there for the Celebrity Forum Series Oct 19/20. Katie said she was only working on one on one meetings out there, and didn’t object to the idea. I’ve not spoken directly with Stein, but I wouldn’t want to do this unless he can promise to raise $100,000. >>>>>>>> I chatted briefly with Kathy and Melinda about this, and they said to check with you first. >>>>>>>> Thoughts? >>>>>>>> Thanks, >>>>>>>> Josh >>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> Joshua Alcorn >>>>>>>> 302.295.8340 (office) >>>>>>>> 302.598.1885 (cell) >>>>>>>> josh@beaubidenfoundation.org <mailto:josh@beaubidenfoundation.org> >>>>>>> >>>>>> >>>>> >>>> >>> >
