The House put a final seal of approval on the fiscal 2018 budget today, notching a victory in the Republican drive to overhaul the tax code.

The measure, passed 216-212, unleashes a special procedural power allowing the Senate to move forward on a tax reform bill with a simple majority vote - rather than a 60-member threshold.
