I hope you have been well. I really hope your dad considers running in 2020. America NEEDS him. You probably have not heard, but I officially retired from the IAFF. I will be doing some outside work and consulting.

My staff is putting together a tribute book as well as taking a resolution to our convention in my honor. I'm hoping to get quote/tribute from your dad. Obviously, he is one of the people for whom I have always had the greatest respect and affection.

Hopefully, something that captures the length of our relationship. Perhaps, something like this..........

"I worked closely with Kevin from the time he arrived in Washington to run the IAFF's lobbying shop. Both as a Senator when I chaired the Congressional Fire Services Caucus and through my time as Vice President, Kevin's leadership helped in building support for countless pieces of legislation to help the fire service and labor. He will always be my friend."
