Trump threatens to imperil our interests in the region
Re "Clinton faults Trump on Iran move" (Page A2, Oct. 16): Hillary Clinton is right. As the discussion, pro and con, continues about how manyangels can fit on the head of a pin, i.e., Iranian nuclear dealdecertification, the question that needs an answer desperately is how doesdecertification enhance America’s national security interests in the region?The proponents of decertification are conveniently ignoring this vital question.Their silence speaks volumes. In fact,decertification does the opposite, presenting a clear and present danger toAmerica’s national security interests in the region. Forget Trump, he knowsnothing, does not know he knows nothing and does not care. The people who knowand care, national security officials of the U.S., Israel, and all oursignificant allies, have said that this is a horrible decision. Could it be thesame architects of the chaos theory, the neocons and their acolytes, whobrought us decades of war in the Middle East and were held in check for thelast eight years by President Obama, found a hapless person in the Oval Officeand are back spreading their chaos? Agift to the hardliners in Iran and what could be the beginning of a 100 yearwar in the region and beyond. How verysad.
