I like to smile about Tom Petty even though the loss of one of America’s greatest musicians isn’t an easy pill to swallow. I saw a photo of Petty and Lucinda Williams backstage at the Hollywood Bowl taken just a couple of weeks ago. In the photo, Petty was so alive, so present…so on top of his game.

It seemed Petty was always in perfect form. Like when Petty and the Heartbreakers decided to tour with Bob Dylan in 1986. Filmmaker Gillian Armstrong captured a concert video “Hard to Handle” at two of the shows in Sydney, Australia. Dylan was magnificent. Petty and the Heartbreakers were off the charts.
