I have enclosed some initial material that may prove useful for
discussions with Chevron. Erica and I have discussed the approach to
Bob Denham on the Board. In addition to Bob Denhan former Senators Sam
Nunn and Chuck Hagel serve on the Board. We should discuss whether we
approach them as well as Bob Denham. You advice on whether that would
be useful or too much. We have also discussed the approach Jim Haynes
one of the Group General Counsels responsible for all international
activities. We will seek the guidance of Bob and Jim on the best
approaches to be made at the senior levels of Chevron.

You will note that a list of countries that Chevron lists as business
locations is 27 they make a point in their material that they do
business in over 100 countries. You will recognize from the list that
the list of locations contains the names of some very difficult places
politically.

Please look at the list of officers since their are two who have
Government Affairs responsibilities that report to them; Rhona
Zygocki, Executive VP for Policy and Planning and Stephen Green, VP
for Policy, Government and Public Affairs. If anyone knows them it
would be helpful. Lisa Berry the Head of the Washington Office likely
reports to them. If we were to approach either then it might be useful
to talk to Lisa first as a courtesy.

Strategies document is thin but is enhanced by Profile document. When
you open the Board of Directors document you can access their bios by
clicking on the name.

You will note that one (Kazakhstan)of the "Stans"is listed but they
have shown interest in several others. The board traveled to several
in late 2009.
