Hunter, thanks. By the way, I saw the VP in Boston two weeks ago, and we hugged and exchanged greetings etc. Our prior conversation last fall which I think I emailed you about wasn't nearly as pleasant because I told him how disappointed I was to be left off the team. I understand that's the way things are, and there's not much any of us can do about it. It seems I've gone from creating the ropeline to standing on the otherside, just for a chance to say hello. Hope all is well with you and family, and hope to catch up soon. ----- Original Message ----- From: Hunter Biden To: rick vitali Cc: a hoffman ; Larry Rasky ; Hunter Biden Sent: Monday, April 04, 2011 11:24 AM Subject: Re: IPU Rick- talked to Alan and he is on it. I got a phone call yesterday from a guy named Tom Costin, who was one of Ted Kennedy's closest friends. Somehow he is connected to the folks at the IPU --the Inter-Parlimentary Union. The IPU is holding an assembly in Panama April 15-20. Apparently, the US dropped out of the IPU in 2003. Costin met last week in DC with Senator Kerry, who said he would send members from his office and work to get a US delegation to the assembly. Costin called me based on my relationship with the VP (whatever that is or was) to see if the IPU folks could meet with the VP or someone in the VP's office to help explore whether the US could rejoin the IPU. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. I can provide more info if need be, but that's the basics. Thank
