Dana Milbank, Washington Post columnist and author of Homo Politicus: The Strange and Scary Tribes that Run Our Government will speak in Collection on Wednesday. Stop by the library to check out the senior favorite books and bookmarks on display. Aladdin -- The Musical MS MusicalThe Sidwell Friends Middle School presents the Disney dual-language edition of: Aladdin! You are welcome to attend either performance at the Kogod Arts Center -- with free admission: Friday, April 15th at 7:30pm, or Saturday, April 16th at 1pm. Read More2011 Live Auction Information It’s not too late to participate in the 2011 Events for Student Scholarships Auction! If you are unable to attend the auction but would like to bid on an item in the silent or live auction, be sure to fill out asealed bid form (located in your catalog) and submit it to the Events office by Friday, April 15 at noon. You can also support the auction by donating to Fund A Scholar. All donations are directed to the Student Financial Aid Fund. Donations can be made by mailing in a check or calling the Events office with a credit card at 202-537-8110. All Fund A Scholar donations are fully tax-deductible. PA Announcements Faculty and Staff Appreciation Breakfast The US Parents Association is sponsoring an Appreciation Breakfast for our beloved teachers and Staff on Friday, April 29th. We need volunteers to bring baked goods, fresh fruit, ground coffees, teas, juices and other breakfast goodies. Contributions should be dropped off at the Upper School Faculty Lounge no later than 7:45 am on the morning of Friday, April 29th. Please place your name on all your non-disposable dishes and have your scholar pick them up by the end of the day in the Faculty Lounge. We are asking the 9th Grade to take the lead on this Appreciation event. However, we would welcome all contributions from other parents in the different grades. The Board of Trustees has been working for over a year in consultation with parents, faculty, alumni and students on developing a strategic plan which will define the education skill sets through year 2024, the expectations for Sidwell Friends faculty as master learners, how the School's Quakerness defines our values and priorities, and the business models that allow us to reach our goals. MedStar Health Blood Drive: Thursday, April 14, 2 pm – 5 pm, Wannan Gym.Alaska Wildlife Odyssey Trip Join us for this one-of-a-kind, summer experience! Final announcement for the Sidwell Summer Programs Alaska trip. (Final deadline April 15 approaching and we have spaces remaining.) This is the greatest wildlife spectacle in North America with whales, sea otters, and sea lions, and also caribou, moose, grizzly bear, and even wolves. And all in a setting of glaciers, vast forests and tundra, and the highest peak in North America. Registration is first come, first served -- open for ages 13 to 16. Registrations before April 8th guarantee the price of the flight. Later registrations will probably result in a higher flight cost.
