Venice, one of the world's most romantic cities. We spoke to a local expert


As the story goes, in just the third century, Roman Emperor Claudius II believed that single men made better soldiers, so he made marriage illegal. However, Valentine, a priest from Rome continued to marry couples in love. An act that eventually led to his martyrdom. To this day, people around the world ask St. Valentine to watch over newlyweds.
